Now, I know what your thinking and no, you can’t use food stamps to buy diapers, but you can use them to buy crack. More importantly, what the hell is UberVanilla? I’m glad you asked that because it my be the most important development of your life.

NO Bull Sh!t

Yup, you heard it right. We’re going back to basics. Back to our roots. Back to the extremely well balanced game we all feel in love with. We’re taking OUR game back from the clearly out of control Devs.

We’re playing the way God intended the game to be played. God Bless America. USA! USA! USA!

Disneyland? Fuck, man, this is better than Disneyland!

All good things must come to an end. Unfortunately, today we bid a fond farewell  to the majmar TF2 server. You will be missed sir. You brought us much joy and happiness. You had a good run. You lasted much longer than anyone could have predicted. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

The saddest part is we’re not closing the doors due to lack of support. The majmar community has dutifully donated every month to keep the server going and I believe would have continued to do so. No, the server is taking its final bow because Valve’s TF2 Dev group has lost its collective mind.

As if the ‘Chargin’ Targe’ wasn’t broken and unbalanced enough, now TF2 will include user created weapons. That’s right kids, the Dev Team has reached all new levels of silly. They’ve even setup a website to expedite the unbalancing of the game. It’s only a matter of time before cats are living with dogs, your daughter is knocked-up, and money is missing from your dresser.

Majmar Revolution! was really the last bastion of sanity left in TF2 servers. Clearly the TF2 community as a whole really isn’t interested in balanced, team oriented game play. It only takes a quick glance at the available servers to see what most players want “TF2: Deathmatch” (32 player, fast-respawn, 24/7 Two-Forts) or “TF2: Counter Strike” (Arena, No-Crits). No one wants to play the game we fell in love with 2 years ago.

The Solider/Demo update was the writing on the wall. I really believed the Devs were going to fix the Targe. They fixed the pyro during the great “Pyro-Mania” update. I felt if we just waited it out they’d do the same thing again. Now, I see I was wrong; (which makes Blue right, and me a sad panda). It appears that not only are they not going to fix the Targe, but are introducing a whole carload of new weapons to unbalance the game. The Dev team is moving away from balanced game play and embracing gimmicky crap.

The biggest reason for TF2′s success is not the updates (unlike what the Devs will tell you). No, TF2 lasted because when it was all said and done TF2 was incredible balanced. Here’s a game with nine extremely distinctive classes that both felt and played in a balanced fashion. Here’s a game that, because of the nine  balanced classes, really felt like nine separate games. Here’s a team based game that was so balanced that a better team could beat  better players EVERYTIME.  Here’s a game who’s winning formula was balance. Not gimmicks and “BOOM” headshots.

So goes the balance, so goes the game. I’ve watched the server slowly die off over the last couple of months. I heard over and over again from veteran players , “I’m taking a break from TF”; “I’m playing other games”, “I just don’t feel like playing any TF.” I’ve only really heard these types of complaints, in mass, after the Solider/Demo Update.

I’m pretty upset by this unfortunate turn of events. TF2 was my favorite game OF ALL TIME! Never have I had as much fun playing a game as I did with TF2.  So many good times. So much history. It’s very unfortunate it had to end this way. It’s equivalent to one of the majmar members passing away. It really feels like losing a good friend.

I’m not starting a petition.  I’m not posting on any forms. I’m putting my money were my mouth is. I quit. Frankly, like so many other players, I simply don’t want to play the game anymore. It really hasn’t been fun in months and therefore I can no longer ask majmar members to continue donating to a server no one is using. C’est la vie.

I would have liked to see the damage resistance taken down to 45% BUT I think this change maybe just enough to tip game play back into balance. I’ve already seen the community start using *gasp* team work to bring down demos effectively. This change should allow  a single solider at medium range to bring down a Demo with 4 rockets, if they have the Eyelander equipped (which they all do). This change MAY even force some Demos to go back to using the Bottle to maximize their health.

I know that 15% doesn’t look like a big change but it will have a huge affect on the game play.

That right kids! The DOA:Source’s TF2 server is DEAD, gone, ceases to be.

The009® and his furry fag crew can suck it! And I’m pretty sure they do, every night. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it), majmar and anyone with a majmar tag has been banned from their server. This makes it very difficult to determine why they’ve gone the way of Crystal Pepsi. Lucky, our Bothin spies provided us with the following evidence.

Apparently, DOA:Source – Live Stat’s unique combination of  tyrannical admins, furfags, and water sports failed to capture the support of the TF2 community. BTW, if any D@Gay Clannies are looking for a server you’re more then welcome @ majmar Revolution! [500FPS][FastDL][Stats][AllTalk] where you won’t get banned for talking on an alltalk server.

P.S. Does this mean we need to find a new crew to have a rivalry with?

Yes, I broke the stats. Yes, I’m sorry. Some how the decay value got screwed up and nuked most of the stats. There was no way to bring them back. So, I made the executive decision to reset the psychostats server. Again, I’m very sorry.

On a lighter note, if you hurry you can be ranked higher then Blue for like 5 sec!

P.S. To: Anyone who’s thinking about bitching.

You try managing a game server, a sourcebans server, a psychostats server, and a web server, while holding a full time job and listening to Blue bitch about every thing. STFU Noob! ;-P

Testing new rage quit plugin on server. The checks that are made to determine a rage quits break down like this:

• End of Round (and 60 sec thereafter)
  1. Player was on losing team
• Round will end in 30 sec or less
  1. Any player disconnects
• Any other time during the round
  1. Player’s K/D ratio < 0.1
  2. Player was dominated by more than 2 players
  3. Player was on the losing team for the previous two or more rounds
  4. Opposing team total frags is three times more than that of player’s team

If any of the conditions are meet the server plays a “Quake Style” rage quit sound file. I thought the whole thing was quite humorous. Please, let me know what you think.

To use the plug-in you need to bind a key. I found the “F” key to be the most convenient. You can use any key you would like. To enable type bind f teamtalk into the console. Again, the “F” can be any key you want. You might also think about setting this bind in you autoexec.cfg file. FYI, This particular AllTalk/TeamSpeak Toggle does not break the in-game player mute feature.

Basically, there are sometimes it would be nice to coordinate directly with your team. This plug-in lets you do that without broadcasting your super secret plans to the whole server. Like I said, we are still an AllTalk server. Most of the communication will continue in the AllTalk channel. Everyone will still  hear any messages broadcast in AllTalk. No worries mate!
